Christoph

I was in Bern the other day, just out of the ‘crowded’ Bahnhof when I saw this man standing at a strategic place to get the attention of people coming in and out of the station. ‘Free Hugs’ was what he had to offer. This wasn’t the first time I took the opportunity to hug someone, as there is something so darn positive about a loving embrace. But this was the first time I wanted to know more about the person doing this job. His name was Christoph, and he told me his motivation to do this was Christ who gave nothing but love to people. It is not the same everyday though, he confessed, saying on certain days many people come for a hug and some days fewer. But he believes that hugging people gives him happiness and is of the opinion that people derive happiness and comfort from his embrace. And he was right.

I said my goodbye to Christoph, but not before sharing another hug. Got time? Take or share a free hug.
